I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for more than 10 years and worked as a master's level clinical mental health counselor for 8 years prior.
As a psychologist who specializes in counseling and clinical work, I love helping others understand more about how to change patterns that aren't working for them in their lives. As a professor, it is exciting to help students learn about what influences human behavior and thinking-aspects like various life experiences, biological factors, culture, family etc.
I continue to have a strong interest in populations related to forensic psychology, such as crime victims, trauma survivors, and youth who are court-involved. I value the opportunities that we've created at St. Ambrose University to involve our students in direct community based work with these populations, as part of our Forensic Psychology and Psychology programs.
Additionally, I love working with students on their professional development and vocational choices as they prepare for a new chapter of life after college.
